I feel like this week marks something of a real change. We’ve gone from a Monday full of blue skies and hot weather, to a cold drizzly Sunday. From wearing a bikini at the start of the week to having to borrow one of my Mum’s big winter coats on Friday evening so I could walk the dog without shivering! I can see why some people say that the start of September feels like the start of a new year. Not only does the weather seem to dramatically change, but I think starting a new year at school every single September for so long during our childhoods probably sticks with us.
Let’s see what I’ve been loving during this slightly weird week.
Bank holiday Monday
After enjoying a BBQ last Sunday, it was lovely for the warm weather to continue into Monday. After being extremely busy since I announced that we were going to put our house on the market, Dan and I decided to do absolutely nothing on Bank Holiday Monday. A day of sunbathing, reading a good book and sitting in the hot tub was bliss! As I mentioned in my August Luxe Letter, the day had the perfect end when the Red Arrows flew right over our heads while we were having a BBQ! This is probably going to be the last time this year we’ll be having such warm weather and enjoying a BBQ, so it was lovely to really make the most of it.
Having lots of interest in our house
It’s quite nerve-wracking putting your home on the market. I was really hopeful that we would get a good level of interest in our house, but you never know how well it will go until the viewings start being booked.
We’ve been so happy to get several viewings within the first week of it being on the market, and we were thrilled to receive an offer. I think we may well agree a sale this week, so we will see. I’m just really glad there’s been so much interest and everyone has been saying how lovely the house is, which is lovely to hear.
I’ve taken lots of photos for a home tour, so I’m looking forward to sharing them all with you very soon.
As someone who has pretty much given up on Instagram recently, I really enjoyed reading Things I’ve Learned About Instagram, written by the always hilarious Amber. Her posts never fail to make me giggle, and her thoughts on Instagram were completely on point.
Another post that I found myself nodding along to this week is Why Is It So Hard To Take Our Own Advice? by the lovely Sophie. As someone who often gets told I give good advice, but I struggle to take my own advice all the time, it was such a relatable and interesting read. I think it can be so easy to provide great advice when you’re looking at something logically from the outside, but when you’re personally involved in a situation, it can be so much more difficult to see things clearly.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this week? Let me know what you got up to for the Bank Holiday and for the rest of the week.
