Sofia garden table and chairs

So it turns out I haven’t written a weekly catch-up post since October. Time flies, that’s for sure. Sometimes I find it’s easy to get into the routine of posting 2 or 3 times every week, whereas once a week is all I manage, if that. I’ve been really busy these last few months but I’ve realised I’ve really missed having regular posts, so I guess I may be making a real effort again to post a lot more.

A new weekly catch-up would be a great place to start. Let’s see what I’ve been loving this week.

Noah’s christening

Okay so I might be cheating a tad here because this happened last Sunday, but I really wanted to include it! I was over the moon when my best friend asked me to be her son’s godmother and last Sunday we attended little Noah’s christening. Standing at the front of the church with the other godparents was a lovely moment and I felt so honoured to be one of them.

After the small service, we headed back to my friend’s parent’s house, where they hosted a small party to celebrate. It was so much fun to reminisce on years gone by with everyone, watching Noah open his presents and eating the tastiest cupcakes and buffet food in good company.

A new garden table

We were so disappointed when our new garden table turned up completely broken. Yes, we’re crazy to buy a garden table in the winter. This was confirmed when we received the replacement on Friday and we assembled it in the freezing cold. Thank goodness the new one wasn’t smashed to pieces like the last one. Mediterranean vibes mixed in with a modern look is completely my aesthetic for our new garden and a mosaic table top is something I’ve been wanting for ages. I’m so happy with the Sofia set we’ve chosen.

And if you’re wondering why on earth we ordered it in February, it’s because we got the matching chairs super cheap in the final in-store clearance, so we wanted to ensure we got the table to go with them.

Now all we need is a nice garden to match our new patio set! I can’t wait to get to work out there when the weather warms up. If the forecast for this week is anything to go by, I certainly won’t be going into the garden much anytime soon, that’s for sure.

Funny animal photos

We’ve got 2 cats and a dog and I’m forever taking photos of them sitting in funny positions or looking super cute. This week was no exception.

Cat sat in a funny position

Spice is the funniest of all. She was sat in a super weird position with her leg up in the air like that for ages. Surely that can’t be comfortable? In the other photo, I was out in the garden when I looked up at the kitchen window and she was sat there staring at me. She looks a bit sinister and it really made me laugh.

I say it a lot but it’s the little things that make life so joyful and looking back at photos of my 3 cuties always puts a smile on my face.

Layering up

Oh my goodness it’s going to be so cold this week. This weekend has been seriously chilly too with an icy cold wind. Although the cold weather seems to be dragging on for forever, it’s a great excuse to dig the cosy clothes out and layer up with my favourite winter clothes before it starts warming up.

My Mum bought me a grey cashmere scarf for Christmas so I made sure to wear it this weekend. It did a great job of keeping me warm and toasty and I’m going to enjoy wearing it this week whenever we go out and about.

Making lots of house progress

We’ve been working away at the house again this week when we’ve had free time. Many of the jobs we’ve completed have been the kind that are boring but make a big difference.

After being used to soft close kitchen doors at our last house, we were really missing that luxury here. A trip to B&Q and a few minutes of work sorted that issue out. No more doors slamming – thank goodness!

This weekend we gave the back garden a quick clear up and got rid of lots of rubbish and old furniture that had accumulated. For the first time since we moved in, everywhere outside is looking pretty tidy, which is what we wanted to achieve ready to start updating the outside space in the spring.

We’ve had such a productive week finished off with a relaxed Sunday afternoon. Perfect!

I hope you’ve had a lovely week too? Let me know what you’ve been loving this week and what your plans are for the week ahead.

Love the table! I’d quite like a mosaic top too someday. Our cats are totally over winter now – they’re acting really strangely when they’re not hibernating! They make me laugh every day. 🙂

I was so happy to find one that doesn’t cost a huge amount of money – some of them are so expensive! They’re hilarious aren’t they 🙂 x

I love a good cat photo! We have soft close kitchen doors apart from one cupboard and it always throws me off when it’s not haha!

I can relate so much about layering up. I recently got back from Amsterdam and it was freezing there – and on our first full day I was there wearing a sheer top and thin jacket.. I was so cold the whole time, the weather was freeezing. It’s going to snow where I am in Wales this week though, so I can definitely see myself throwing on layer after layer – or just avoiding the snow, either or.

Oh my gosh I hate it when you wear cool clothes and it ends up being freezing! I hope the snow isn’t too bad there. It’s been quite bad here but nothing like the photos I’ve seen from other parts of the country. It’s been colder than I can ever remember it being before x

Yes, it seems like winter is still in full effect. I am still wearing my scarf and coats. I liked reading this post–great thinking and a good deal on that table and matching chairs. /Madison
