Well this week has been such a busy one. I’ve been working away at my new freelance work, dealing with appointments and admin for our house sale, never mind trying to fit blogging in! Dan has got next week off work, which I’m really looking forward to, although I will have to try to get lots of work done too.
Let’s see what I’ve been loving this week.
Birthday shopping for our new home
I mentioned in last week’s catch-up post that I was going to go shopping at Next with my Mum to look for a few things for my birthday. We went on Monday evening and had fun browsing the homeware department and catching up over a coffee when we were all shopped out. I found some lovely things for our new home that Mum has very kindly got me for my birthday.
I can’t wait to show you what I got!
I heard that there was a Next sale this weekend and I was worried that the items my Mum had bought would be half price in the sale. Thankfully nothing we got was reduced! Knowing that it was a mid-season sale, so wouldn’t be particularly big, I wasn’t hopeful that I would find anything good, but I decided to go to a local store anyway just in case. I’m so glad I went!
There are often some great bargains in the children’s sale section, so we usually have a look for our niece, nephews and my godson. We found a couple of lovely tops for our niece for Christmas, plus the cutest dress for her birthday too.
I saw some brass hooks featuring our initials a couple of weeks ago and I was so happy to find they were in the sale. They had both a J and a D too, so we can have one each.
I’ve been thinking for a while that I need to get some nicer plastic cups and plates than the really cheap small ones we got years ago from IKEA. I didn’t find any plastic plates in the Next sale, but I did find these cups.
I love the colours and the palm trees and they were only £1.50 each, which I thought was a good price, considering how thick and sturdy they feel.
I also spotted a mug that I really liked that was now only £1, so I couldn’t resist!
I’ve been stashing most of our new purchases away, ready to pack for the move. I think my parents will be really happy when we finally move because they’ve got so many things stashed in their house too! We’ve got a real lack of space here, so they’ve been holding onto several things that we can’t fit in this house, like their old dining table and chairs that they’ve very kindly said we can have. The cons of living in a small house!
I hope you’ve all had a good week? Let me know what you’ve been up to this week and if you’ve done any sale shopping.
