Well November is certainly creeping closer. I’m making the most of the milder weather while it lasts. Last week was, for me, a week of waiting, family time and yummy food – quite the combination. Waiting around for updates on our house move not quite so enjoyable as spending time with family and delicious food.

Let’s see what I was loving last week.

Birthday celebrations

September and October are a busy couple of months for our family in terms of celebrations. We were out celebrating my birthday less than a month ago and last week, we enjoyed a meal out for my Mum’s birthday. I chose melon and parma ham followed by a salmon and noodles dish and both were lovely.

Watching cats living their best life surrounded by boxes

Cardboard boxes everywhere for packing the house up ready to move equals 2 very happy and entertained cats. They’re easily pleased. I couldn’t resist taking photos of them loving the experience. Unfortunately the photos are all blurry due to them moving around non-stop, but you get the idea!

He’s only had his collar for about 3 weeks and, as you can see, it’s already falling apart.

And no, we still haven’t completely finished clearing out the garage. Oops. Next weekend is going to be busy!

Lots of family time

My parents are often super busy, but this week I spent time with them not only on Mum’s birthday during the week, but also through the weekend. Mum bought some tasty food for lunch from M&S and we ended up staying there for dinner too! I’m not the biggest fan of roast chicken, but paired with roast parsnips, carrots and potatoes and really nice stuffing made it very enjoyable.

Dan was out for dinner on Sunday evening, so I visited my parents’ again for parma ham and melon (2nd time this week!) followed by homemade fish pie for main course. Dan joined us later in the evening and we took the dog for a walk together. It was a peaceful walk with nobody around and it wasn’t too cold or raining either. The perfect end to the weekend.

Don’t you just love it when you’ve had a lovely week and weekend? I hope you all had as nice a week too. Let me know what you got up to and if you’ve got any plans for this week.

Ooooh, M&S food is one of my favourite little luxuries haha! Roasted parsnips are among my very favourite foods and I haven’t had them in yonks – definitely feeling hungry now! The meal you had for your Mum’s birthday looks absolutely delish as well, incredibly well presented! Your kitty is absolutely adorable, I’m glad they’re having such fun whilst you’re getting your house sorted for moving – I hope they take well to their new home!

I love roasted carrots and parsnips when the weather gets cold – yum! Oh me too, I think it will take a while for them to get used to living in a new house, but hopefully they won’t get too stressed x
