Well this week has been a complete whirlwind! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week? Let’s see what I’ve been loving this week.
Being excited to move home
After announcing last week that we’ve decided to put our house on the market, things have moved really quickly. Every day has involved rushing around putting the finishing touches to our home, so that it’s ready to sell. Cleaning everything in sight, doing little DIY jobs and making never-ending lists of things we still need to do has meant that the week has flown by. It’s been exhausting trying to get everything done, not to mention trying to fit work and blogging in too.
If you’ve seen what our house looked like when we got the keys, you will know just what a terrible state it was in! We’ve done so much work, and spent so much money and effort on turning it into a lovely home, so we’re keen to make sure it looks as good as possible for viewings.
It’s been a funny mix of feelings. We’re both really looking forward to a new challenge of making another house a home and starting a new chapter of our lives. At the same time, I can’t help but feel a teensy bit sad.
We transformed this house from being in a terrible state to somewhere that feels completely like home. We’ve had so many amazing times here and it’s weird to know we will be leaving it behind. Talking of leaving things behind, I’m going to miss our neighbours so much. We’ve been so incredibly lucky to have the nicest neighbours, particularly the couple who live next door to us, who are more like friends now. They keep telling us they don’t want us to go, which makes me so sad, but it also makes me feel quite warm inside that they really want us to stay! It means we must have done a good job of being nice neighbours!
Basically, it’s been a bit of a surreal week. I’m not the biggest fan of change, but I know it’s the right thing to do and I really can’t wait to begin a new challenge. I’m just trying to quieten my excitement and nerves down enough to sleep, which has been easier said than done!
My new phone
Having made do with an old iPhone for a few years, I was so excited to finally get a new phone. After much debate, I settled on the iPhone 7 and I’m so pleased with the choice I made. I’ve been really getting used to it this week and I can’t believe just how much faster everything loads compared to my old phone! It’s made using social media and dealing with emails a breeze and when I’ve had the busiest week. Not having to wait for things to load has been so helpful. Sometimes it’s the small things that make the biggest difference. I love the personalised case that I got for it too, which I’ve reviewed here.
A blog post that blew me away this week was Nobody is Perfect: Admitting my Faults and Strengths by one of my favourite bloggers, InTheFrow. The photos are incredible and combined with the writing in the post, I found it to be pretty powerful. I think we can often be way too critical of ourselves; I know for sure that I’m guilty of this. Sometimes we need to realise that what we see as our faults can actually be seen as strengths too.
Another of my favourite blogs to catch up on is The Londoner. She always shares the most lovely imagery and I really enjoy hearing about the latest places she’s visited. Her post about Petersham Nurseries was no exception. This truly looks like the nicest garden centre with stunning home pieces, beautiful blooms and incredible food. I’m a little in love with her floral dress, pink velvet slippers and basket bag combo too!
Let me know what you’ve been loving this week!
