I’m writing this on Sunday afternoon, knowing we’ve got roast beef for dinner and I can’t wait! Because of the warm weather, we haven’t had a full-on roast dinner for ages. The thought of yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and roast vegetables is a happy one!
Let’s see what other things I’ve been loving this week.
It’s my birthday at the end of the month and my Mum keeps asking what I would like for it. I’ve been doing a little window shopping and I found so many lovely things for our new home in Next. I think we’re going to go and have a look together this week so I can choose some gifts. I might do a post very soon showing the homeware pieces I’m loving there at the moment.
Starting freelance work
I’ve been wanting to begin doing a little freelance writing for quite some time now. I was over the moon to gain my first freelance writing assignment, which I’m beginning this week. I’m really hoping that I’ll enjoy it and that it will give me good experience to take on additional work in the future.
We now have a sold board!
I apologise if I’m already boring you all senseless with my continuous updates of our house sale, but I’m just so excited about it! I announced in last week’s catch-up post that we’d agreed a sale. This week the sold board went up at the bottom of the front garden, which made it all seem a bit more real. We’re hoping we’ll be moving at the end of October, so not too long until I start bombarding you with photos and posts all about our new home!
Dan’s family live a little way away and so we don’t see them all that often sometimes. His sister came to visit today and brought our nephew along and it was lovely to have a catch up. Our nephew has grown so much more every time we see him. It’s all fun and games now that he’s walking and starting to talk! It’s so joyful to see his little face grinning away happily when we entertain him.
This week, a blog post that gave me the best start to the day was the lovely Queen Beady’s I Am Enough. You know those posts that you read that just make you smile and feel like you can tackle everything the day has to throw at you? This is one such post. We are enough and we need to remember this.
There were so many things I loved about Holly’s post, Things That School Never Taught Me About Life. The stunning photos, the reminder not to put so much pressure on ourselves and the finale of ‘everything works itself out anyway’ – another great read.
And so there we have it, another week over and done with already. I feel like we’ve got so much to look forward to these next few months and I can’t wait to share everything with you.
Let me know what you’ve been loving this week.
