LuxeStyle is a lifestyle blog focused on designing an inspired luxe life, created by Jenny from Staffordshire, England. I would love for you to get to know me a little better.
Some of my favourite things
Of course, luxury has to be on this list, from designer handbags to 5 star hotels. I have a real love of the finer things in life. Having said that, I also really enjoy finding a great bargain! In my view, a life that feels luxurious doesn’t have to have a high cost. There are so many ways to live a luxe life for less.
I’ve always loved interiors and seeing how other people style their homes. It could be said I’m a little nosy – I love nothing more than looking inside other people’s houses! When I first started blogging, it was all about my home because it’s such a passion of mine.
I’m a real foodie. Dan and my parents often joke about the fact that I am always thinking about food. Italian food is definitely my favourite.
People often say that laughter is the best medicine and I couldn’t agree more. Laughing until tears roll down my face always means happy memories.
Finding a first home for Dan and I was one of the best things I’ve experienced. Having a place to call our own and to decorate how we liked was incredibly exciting.
Getting your first home often involves compromising, and boy did we compromise in order to get a house! It’s very small and it needed a ridiculous amount of work doing to it. We literally worked with the bare bones of the house and the walls are pretty much the only thing we haven’t done anything major to. Having said that, we did knock down part of one wall, so even they didn’t escape our renovations.
Take a peek at how our home looked when we got the keys. Here’s our living room to whet your appetite. What a joy!
My Dad helped us such a lot with our project and he taught us so many DIY skills that we’re so grateful for.
We settled into our new home and gradually decorated and finished bits and pieces off as we went along. We’ve always known that this house won’t be our forever home, so we’ve never felt the need to get everything exactly as we would like it to be. All the same, we’ve worked very hard to make it a lovely home.
Dan and I got married in the summer of 2013 and it was the happiest day of my life. The sun was shining for the day, making it even more perfect.
We had our honeymoon in Santorini. It was extremely hot, scenic and very pretty. Our suite had a terrace with sunloungers and our own jacuzzi. It was heavenly.
Having a positive outlook
I believe that everything happens for a reason. Going through a difficult time over the last few years has really tested this belief. However, it’s brought me onto a path where I’ve found both a job I really enjoy and my blog that has been a joy to create. I don’t think either of these things would be in my life right now if things hadn’t happened the way they did. They say when one door closes, another one opens, and that has certainly been the case for me.
My journey has created my new-found positive outlook on life. I used to be quite negative about things, as well as being a terrible worrier and over-thinker. Whilst I still do worry about things, I’ve learnt that being positive and deciding that life is easy is life-changing. I really can’t recommend it enough.
My blogging journey
Back in September 2015, I created a blog as somewhere to document all the improvements we made to our home. I soon realised I wanted to expand the things I wrote about to include other subjects. Wanting to also change my blog name and the whole design, LuxeStyle was created. It turns out, it was one of the best decisions I’ve made!
I’m passionate about beautiful interiors, creating a lifestyle that feels truly luxurious, and spreading a message that inspires others to create a home and life you adore. We all want a home and life we love with a large dose of luxe thrown in. Let’s create it!
To everyone who reads and supports LuxeStyle – thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can’t tell you how much it means to me and equally how much it amazes me that people go out of their way to say such lovely things about my creation!
Thank you for joining me. I am delighted to have you here.
