Today, I wanted to discuss my views on living a luxe life. It’s something I want to talk about a great deal more on this blog. I feel that it’s seen as something a lot of people can’t relate to and completely unattainable. But I disagree.
Someone might be seen as rich by some, but compared to others, they aren’t rich at all. Whilst someone may see themselves as poor, they may be seen as the opposite to some. It’s all relative. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – comparison is the thief of joy. We can never life a a fulfilled life if we’re forever looking around us. Instead, we need to focus on ourselves.
I think we often have the view that being able to live a luxe life is only down to the amount of money you have. To some extent, I guess this is true. Money is, of course, needed to buy such things as designer clothing, fast cars and regular holidays in exclusive resorts. Not to mention the ultimate jet set symbol, the private jet.
Maybe then, while we’re working hard to live the kind of life we dream about, we should focus on how to live a luxe life right now, with the things we have already. Sometimes we can be so focused on the future that we forget the here and now. I know I’ve been terribly guilty of doing this in the past.
Whilst we’re working our way towards what we think of as the ultimate luxurious lifestyle, maybe we should be enjoying implementing the start of a luxe life now. After all, millions in the bank aren’t required to live a life that feels luxurious. I think society implores that this is the case, but it isn’t true. I believe it isn’t only about the kinds of possessions that costs hundreds and thousands of pounds. I believe it isn’t solely about material goods either. I think it’s more than that. A way of life and a way of thinking.
I talked about several ways I bring a touch of luxury to my everyday life in my luxe rituals post. You see, simple and relatively cheap things like having a fresh bouquet of flowers in the home and indulging in a chilled glass of prosecco in the evenings bring happiness into our everyday. Sometimes, just making the time to have a relaxing bath, and going all out with bubble bath and scented candles can be all it takes to create a luxurious evening.
Time is, for me, another aspect that may be considered a luxury. How many of us are constantly rushing around trying to do a million things at once and not getting proper rest and relaxation time?
To me, creating a luxe life is all about your mindset, plus investing wisely in items that elevate your day. Whether it’s upgrading your bedding to something that feels luxurious, choosing a mug you’re excited to drink out of every morning and the softest, fluffiest towels for a wonderful end to your relaxing bath, these are all ways to increase the level of joy you get out of each day.
I believe it’s truly possible to create a lifestyle that feels luxurious here and now. As always, let me know your thoughts!
